To paint this I set up a whole lemon with a circular slice leaning against it.  I call it deconstructed lemon because  I pulled apart the visual elements of the lemon: the thick, brilliant yellow rind, the jucy cross section, the delicate pith,  and put them back together so that they say not only "lemon" but also wheel, cosmos, iris of an eye, explosion...
